Cycle Superhighway 11 (CS11)
February 2019 Update:
The big news concerns Westminster City Council succeeding in its judicial review proceedings to prevent TfL challenging the decision regarding CS11.
Sir Ross Cranston ruled against TfL in the High Court on 13 September last year. Work on CS11 had been due to start in early August. At time of writing, all works are on hold.
TfL announced their intention to appeal the decision and applied to be heard in the Appeal Court. We heard in early February that permission to appeal has been refused. TfL remain publicly committed to building CS11 and have included it in their most recent cycling infrastructure plan.
The Society supports safer cycling and had expected TfL to enter into detailed negotiations with Westminster after the judicial review to find a way forward. So far they have chosen not to. We remain in close contact with the council and will report when there are developments.
