On Sunday 18 March, a bitterly cold day with snow still lying on the ground, over 100 children with their parents had a warm welcome at Lord’s Cricket Ground at the first St John’s Wood Society Easter Egg Hunt.
It was thrilling to see all our young members enjoying practicing the skills needed to become a cricketer before taking part in a quiz and Easter Egg Hunt around Lords. We examined the Ashes trophy in the Museum, marvelled at the statistics recorded on the wall in the away dressing room, hunted for chocolate and pineapples in the Media Centre (what a great view!) and cracked the code in the Mound Stand. All the children were richly rewarded in chocolate, thanks to our very own Willy Wonka, and in the presence of the Easter Bunny. We were particularly delighted that many new members to the Society were able to join in.
We send our thanks all the wonderful people at Lord’s who made the event happen, particularly Abi, Ricky and Guy as well as all their fantastic tour guides, stewards and volunteers who assisted
